Monday 4 June was the occasion of the second ‘All-comers Inter-Club Battle’ between Edmonton Camera Club and Loughton Camera Club. This time round Edmonton were the hosts. The format of the battle is unusual in that every competing member, from both clubs, has a single entry. It is designed to ensure that all are represented. On this occasion there were a total of 58 entries.
Our judge was Alison Jenkins LRPS CPAGB. Alison adopted her familiar enthusiastic and informative style. She highlighted what she appreciated about each image and advised how, in her opinion, images could be enhanced either in the taking or making stage. There were some extremely good images on show, representing every genre of photography. Alison had the unenviable task of awarding a score, out of 20, to each image. At the end of the evening it was Loughton that emerged victorious with a score of 520 to Edmonton’s 488.
Three Edmonton members scored a maximum 20 marks for their image. They were Jenny Burden, with ‘White Collar Factory’, Warren Williams with ‘Antelope Canyon’ and Andrew Ridley with ‘Anonymous’.
We look forward the next year’s return match, at Loughton, when Edmonton hope to do better than finishing second!
